Crystal Lotus Slot
Crystal Lotus is Eyecon’s answer to Netent’s Starburst. An exceptionally gorgeous slot, the game heavily features crystalised flowers and other gemstones as its imagery and offers a wonderfully dynamic 3D gaming experience to players. The Crystal Lotus slot provides a more extensive array of features than players may ordinarily be used to seeing in an Eyecon game, and that is a trait common amongst their newer releases.
This game features a 5-reel, 10-line gaming structure, and upon the reels of the slot are three symbols apiece. Players will note that they have the ability to win in both directions with this game, which does make winning a touch more straightforward than its ten-line system might suggest.
Wagers are on the lower end of the wagering spectrum, with bets stemming from as little as 1p per line per spin, up to no more than £12.50 a game. Prizes are capped at 18,750 coins, which is not petite non-progressive prize jackpot for a game as cheap as this. The return to player (RTP) rate in this slot is marginally above the industry standard for an online slot and sits at the 96.5% mark. It is not apparent what the variance of the game is, although if it is anything like Starburst, expect this to be a low-risk release which is ideal for players operating on tighter budgets than most.
A few special goodies have been designed to enhance the playability of the Crystal Lotus slot. A purple bloom symbol appears as a wild symbol, and it is capable of substituting for all other standard paying icons. Moreover, this purple bloom icon can expand to trigger an Expanding Wild Re-Spin bonus round.
In this feature, lotus symbols expand to cover all positions on a reel. Those reels are then held while a re-spin is afforded to players. Additional re-spins can be won should more expanding lotus icons appear, with up to three possible to snap up in a feature which is quite similar to the re-spin bonus in Starburst, as mentioned earlier.
Unfortunately, the Expanding Wild Re-Spin bonus is about all the slot has to offer in terms of features. Again, this makes the slot quintessentially the same as Net Entertainment’s Starburst slot and should provide adequate competition for that slot. No other goodies are available save for wilds and re-spins, but those alone (coupled with the cheap stakes and ability to win in both directions) should be enough to suffice most players’ needs.
It is blatantly apparent which slot inspired Eyecon’s Crystal Lotus game. It is unlikely that this release and its Netent counterpart will go head-to-head at online casinos. Few sites can offer games from both providers. In a way, then, this means that there is a reasonable chance that Crystal Lotus will attract a crowd – namely those players who don’t have access to NetEnt games at their chosen casinos. In terms of gameplay, it is positively identical to that slot, albeit with far better graphics being available in Crystal Lotus.
